Our Home Manager – Angela Madden

Angela Madden serves as the General Manager at Badminton Place, bringing nearly 40 years of extensive experience in health and social care. Her career encompasses managing nursing homes, residential homes, hospices, the learning disability sector, and charity care providers. Angela’s expertise is backed by her registrations with CIW and CQC in Wales and England, reflecting her deep commitment to high standards of care.

Angela was instrumental in the development and implementation of the Social Care Workers Code of Practice and the Standards Framework with the Welsh Assembly Government. This pivotal role underscores her dedication to advancing care practices and enhancing the quality of service.

Living in South Wales, Angela enjoys breathtaking views and the company of her pets: Tilly (Jack Russell), Henry (an elderly Maine Coon cat), and two ragdoll kittens, Thelma and Louise. She is also a proud mother and grandmother, with a growing family that includes a granddaughter, and a grandson expected soon.

Angela’s leadership philosophy is centred around leading by example, being visibly supportive within the home, and championing the quality and standards of elder care. Her passion drives her to ensure residents maintain their independence and make informed decisions, while she works collaboratively with all stakeholders.

Motivated by making a positive difference in people’s lives, Angela adheres to the principle: “Do one good thing for someone else every day.” She strives for excellence in all aspects of care, staying current with regulations, and fostering a supportive and inclusive environment.

The Health & Care Teams

The weekly visits from our local GP support our healthcare professionals, from our Registered General Nurses, to the carers, physio & chiropodists – every one of the team is dedicated to the health and wellbeing of our residents.

The Beauty & Wellbeing Teams

From general wind-down time to pampered luxury. This team is there to support the parts of life that embellish and enhance our natural state. Whether it is aiding relaxation through therapies, or simply polishing the nails up, our team is here to make you feel good.

The Catering & Events Team

We pride ourselves on our attention to the community and the home’s social scene. To enhance the experience for our residents and their families, we have a dedicated team of people whose sole focus is on ensuring that entertainment is second to none and the dining experience is tailored to suit everyone and their dietary requirements.

The Admin & Housekeeping Teams

Making sure Badminton Place runs like clockwork is down to our specialist admin teams who make residents’ and visitors’ comings and goings seamless. Always one step ahead and planning on your behalf, the Admin & Housekeeping team is here to make sure everything ticks over and nothing is too much trouble.

Badminton Place care home is completely focused on people, from our residents to the wonderful team of staff caring for them, it is a space dedicated to the celebration of life, creating new friendships and continuing life’s learning.

Getting to know each and every resident personally and discovering their life story helps build a community within the home and allows us to tailor an exciting life for everyone who lives with us.

Our Residents

Having chosen Badminton Place as their home, our residents certainly enjoy life to the full. They have fun – and lots of it – knowing they are in a secure environment with a professional team who know and understand them well. We talk a lot about community and the social side of life. That’s because we believe strongly in the benefits it brings. Isolation is a bigger problem among the elderly in Britain than most people understand and by removing loneliness from the equation provides people with a new lease of life.

The staff are all so kind and helpful, and they have time to talk to you and that’s important. The food is always lovely, and it’s nicely served
