Nursing care is for people with complex health needs who require regular medical support from registered nurses. At Berkley, our nursing teams provide 24-hour attention for medication management, health monitoring, wound care and specialist interventions such as PEG, tracheostomy and stoma care, all within beautiful, hospitality-led surroundings. It's clinical excellence delivered with warmth, not a hospital atmosphere.

Residential care supports everyday living, delivered by trained care teams. Nursing care adds registered nurses on site every hour of every day for people with more complex medical needs, such as managing chronic conditions, post-operative recovery or specialist procedures. At Berkley, both sit side by side within the same home, so residents can move between levels of care seamlessly as their needs evolve.

Yes. Convalescent stays are one of the most rewarding things we do — supporting people recovering from joint replacement, cardiac procedures, cancer treatment or simply a tough illness. Registered nurses are on site 24 hours a day, our chefs prepare freshly cooked, restorative meals, and the gardens, salon and screening room mean recovery feels restorative rather than clinical. Most guests stay between one and four weeks, with everything included in a single weekly fee.

Our registered nurses support a wide range of complex health conditions, including Parkinson's, stroke recovery, long-term cardiovascular and respiratory conditions, diabetes, complex medication regimes and wound care. Specialist interventions such as PEG feeding, tracheostomy and stoma care are also delivered in-house. Every care plan is personalised following an in-depth assessment, and reviewed regularly as needs change.

Yes. Berkley nursing homes have registered nurses on site 24 hours a day, seven days a week, supported by experienced care teams. That means medications are managed precisely, clinical observations are timely, and families have the reassurance of round-the-clock professional support. Our nurses work closely with GPs, specialists and therapists to coordinate care across every dimension of wellbeing.

Nursing care fees vary by home, suite and clinical requirements, and are tailored after a personalised assessment. Our all-inclusive approach keeps things transparent: one agreed fee covers nursing, dining, activities, hospitality and housekeeping, with no hidden extras. Some residents are also eligible for NHS-funded Nursing Care (FNC), and our team is happy to help you understand costs and funding clearly.

Absolutely. Staying engaged is as important to recovery and wellbeing as any medical treatment. Our nurses and wellbeing teams adapt activities, from art classes and gardening to screening room afternoons and garden outings, so every resident can join in safely and meaningfully. Nursing care at Berkley never means stepping back from life; it means having the right support to continue enjoying it.

Look for 24-hour on-site registered nurses, a strong CQC record, and a clear clinical governance framework. Beyond the clinical basics, notice the atmosphere: is it warm and unhurried, is food proper cooking, is the environment beautiful without feeling stiff? Ask how the team responds to change and involves families. At Berkley, clinical excellence and genuine hospitality are designed to sit together, never in tension.

We provide specialist nursing care at our homes. Nurses are on site around the clock within a beautifully designed, hospitality-led setting. Medical equipment is discreetly integrated, so surroundings feel residential rather than clinical. If you'd like to discuss locations or visit a home, our enquiries team will gladly guide you through the options.
