Award-winning care

Our award-winning homes have been listed multiple times as a top 20 care home by carehome.co.uk, alongside winners and finalists in the Care Awards. Why? We focus on what makes life worth living. Morning tea on the terrace. Laughter over cocktails. Residents tending gardens they planted themselves. This is what outstanding care looks like.

Residential care offers everyday support for people who need a little extra help with tasks like dressing, washing, moving around or preparing meals. It's also a wonderful option for those feeling isolated at home, bringing the warmth of community life, trained carers on hand around the clock, and the freedom to enjoy independence with reassurance always close by.

Residential care focuses on daily living support, companionship and lifestyle, delivered by trained care teams. Nursing care adds registered nurses on site 24 hours a day for residents with complex medical needs such as wound care, medication management or conditions like PEG, tracheostomy or stoma care. Many Berkley homes offer both, so the level of support can adapt as needs change, without moving home.

It's often a gradual realisation. Perhaps daily tasks feel overwhelming, meals are being skipped, the home feels isolating, or a loved one has had a fall. If independence is slipping and you worry about safety or loneliness, residential care can restore confidence, routine and community. A visit often makes the decision feel clearer, because families see warmth rather than loss.

Days begin as gently or as briskly as you like. Breakfast in the dining room or in-suite, followed by the activities you enjoy: art classes, gardening, outings, or simply the papers in the lounge. Lunch is a proper fine-dining affair, afternoons might mean a haircut, a film in the screening room or tea on the terrace. Evenings often end with a drink in the bar bistro.

Fees vary by home, suite and the level of support required, and are tailored after a personalised assessment. What's consistent is our all-inclusive approach: one agreed fee covers fine dining, hairdressing, activities, transport, housekeeping and care, with no hidden extras. We're happy to talk you through costs transparently, and our team can also signpost funding and financial planning support.

Independence is at the heart of what we do. Our teams are on hand for support with dressing, washing and mobility whenever needed, and equally happy to step back when it isn't. Residents choose their routine, their meals, their activities and their social calendar. Beautiful surroundings and thoughtful design make it easy to keep doing what matters most, with reassurance always nearby.

Yes, we welcome couples and understand how important it is to stay together. Depending on the home, we offer larger suites or adjoining rooms so partners can share daily life as they always have, while each receiving the personalised care they need. It's one of the most rewarding parts of what we do, and something we'll gladly plan around during your visit and assessment.

Always. Our homes are designed to welcome family and friends, with private dining rooms for celebrations, comfortable lounges for a cup of tea and gardens for a gentle stroll together. Children and grandchildren are warmly encouraged, and visitors often join in with events and activities. For families travelling further, we can arrange refreshments or a longer stay in one of our guest spaces.
