Burcot Grange & Lodge: all-inclusive care homes

No hidden costs, no surprise bills – everything’s included at these homes that residents describe as “like a really, really good hotel”. Set in five glorious acres of landscaped gardens filled with nature and perfect for long afternoon walks, Burcot offers two distinctive living experiences.

Burcot Grange, built in 1890, is a beautiful historic manor house with original fireplaces, elegant oak-panelled walls, spacious lounges, a large conservatory and formal dining room. Each room is uniquely designed, with some offering suites that include separate living areas – a perfect setting to entertain.

The Lodge, purpose-built in 2017, was specifically designed to support those living with dementia.

Whether residential, dementia, nursing, respite or palliative care, nothing is too much trouble for our team at Burcot. One simple fee covers everything from salon appointments to outings with our dedicated transport – it’s all part of living in this one-of-a-kind country house setting.

Services at Burcot Grange & Lodge

Residential care

Residential care is for people who need help with day-to-day tasks like getting dressed, moving around and cooking dinner. It’s also for those suffering from isolation and loneliness who could benefit from being part of a community. Live life independently with the reassurance that our care team is here if you need us. And if you don’t need us, we’re still here for a chat and a cup of tea.

Dementia care: Burcot Lodge

We are industry leaders in dementia care so we see beyond the diagnosis to recognise each person’s identity and life history. At Burcott Lodge our staff undergo specialised training to understand unique needs. From art therapy to gardening, we offer meaningful activities that improve wellbeing in safe, stimulating environments designed for comfort.

Respite care

Perfect for primary carers who need peace of mind while away, or those recovering from hospital stays. Respite care provides all the benefits our permanent residents receive – from activities to meals – but on a short-term basis. Whether it’s days, weeks or months, you can relax knowing you’re in safe hands.

Community living that feels truly welcoming

Community life is central at Burcot Grange and Lodge. State-of-the-art facilities certainly matter, but it is the social connections that make a real difference. Conversations over morning coffee, shared interests, new friendships formed over activities, all of it creates a natural antidote to the isolation that many people fear. Everyone is encouraged to be themselves while being part of something much bigger. Living somewhere genuinely warm and welcoming, with incredible luxury touches throughout, means that any worries about loneliness fade away completely.

As well as being part of a community, people thrive at Berkley because we recognise and celebrate them as the remarkable individuals they are. If it matters to them, it matters to us. This is how we reimagine care every day.

Your care

Care that works around what matters to you, not the other way around. We talk with residents and families to understand exactly what support each person needs, then fit that around their interests, routines and preferences. Some people need minimal help, others require more intensive support – either way, it’s designed around how you want to live your life here.

Our people

Burcot Grange & Lodge work because of the people – residents, families and our team. Everyone here has fascinating stories to tell. Residents arrive with decades of experiences, skills and knowledge that make conversations genuinely interesting. When people feel comfortable sharing their stories and being themselves, that’s what creates the warm atmosphere you’ll notice the moment you walk through the door. Our staff understand that their job is helping everyone feel valued and giving them opportunities to keep growing and learning.

“Choosing Burcot for my father was one of the best decisions I've ever made.”

Burcot offers residential, dementia, nursing, respite and palliative care across two distinctive homes. Burcot Grange, the historic 1890 manor, is ideal for residential, respite and nursing residents, while Burcot Lodge, purpose-built in 2017, was specifically designed to support those living with dementia. Every resident has a care plan shaped around their life and preferences, and the same trusted team can adapt support as needs change.

Burcot Grange & Lodge sits on Greenhill in Burcot, Bromsgrove, Worcestershire (B60 1BJ), set in five acres of glorious landscaped gardens. The location is easily reached from Bromsgrove, Redditch, Droitwich and the M5/M42, with Birmingham just a short drive away. The setting is peaceful country-house tranquillity, yet convenient for families travelling in from across the Midlands.

Burcot Grange is a beautiful 1890 manor house with original fireplaces, oak-panelled walls, spacious lounges, a large conservatory and a formal dining room. Each room is uniquely designed, with some suites including separate living areas perfect for entertaining. The Lodge offers purpose-built dementia-friendly design. Across both homes, residents enjoy five acres of landscaped gardens, a private screening room, a salon and outings in our dedicated transport.

Yes, it was designed for it. Burcot Lodge was purpose-built in 2017 specifically to support people living with dementia, with calming design, easy-to-navigate layouts and outdoor spaces residents can enjoy safely. Our specialist-trained team shape each day around the individual: familiar routines, meaningful activities, music, gardening and gentle company. Families consistently describe Burcot as one of the best decisions they have made.

Residential care supports people with daily living: dressing, meals, medication prompts and companionship. Nursing care adds qualified nurses on site for complex clinical needs. Burcot Grange & Lodge provides both, plus dementia, respite and palliative care, so residents can move between levels of support within the same estate, surrounded by familiar faces and the same five acres of gardens they've come to love.

Visit in person, ideally more than once. Walk the building, spend time in the gardens, meet the team and notice how they interact with residents. Ask about food, activities and how care plans evolve. At Burcot Grange & Lodge we welcome unhurried tours of both homes so you can see the country-house setting, the dementia-focused Lodge and the landscaped gardens for yourself before making a decision.

Most Burcot residents fund their care privately through a mix of pensions, savings, property proceeds and attendance allowance. Some are eligible for NHS-funded nursing care contributions or Continuing Healthcare. Our all-inclusive weekly fee avoids surprise extras, making budgeting simpler. We're happy to recommend independent later-life financial advisers who can help your family plan with confidence and explore every option available.

Burcot operates on a simple all-inclusive weekly fee, covering accommodation in your chosen suite, personal and nursing care, all meals, drinks, activities, salon appointments, use of facilities, access to the five-acre gardens and outings in our dedicated transport. Weekly fees vary depending on the home, the suite and the level of care required, so our team will happily provide a tailored quote after your visit.

Yes, and we'd love to walk you through both homes and the gardens. Book a tour at a time that suits, bring whoever you'd like, and plan to stay for a coffee or meal. You'll see the Grange's historic rooms, the purpose-built Lodge, meet the team and experience the atmosphere that residents describe as like a really, really good hotel. Evening and weekend visits are easy to arrange.
