Our Dementia Strategy launches at the House of Lords

Reflecting on last week’s launch of Berkley Care Group’s Dementia Strategy in Parliament, we’re reminded of just how vital empathy and understanding are in shaping the future of care.

A highlight of the day was seeing parliamentarians, including Dame Caroline Dinenage MP DBE, Adam Thompson MP, and the Speaker, Sir Lindsay Hoyle, step into the Virtual Dementia Tour UK Bus. The immersive simulation offered a glimpse into the lived experience of dementia, sparking conversations we hope will continue well beyond Westminster.

Our House of Lords reception brought together nearly 40 leaders from across health and social care. Hearing reflections from Wendy Chamberlain MP, Nadra Ahmed CBE DL 💚, and others underscored the shared commitment across our sector to strengthening dementia care and building support that truly makes a difference.

For Berkley, our strategy is more than a document, it’s a commitment across our 12 homes to create environments where residents can thrive, families feel supported, and teams are empowered to deliver care rooted in dignity, compassion and innovation.

Thank you to TRAINING 2 CARE (UK) LIMITED for their partnership, to every MP who joined us, and to all our colleagues and friends who made this launch so meaningful. Together, we are building understanding, raising awareness, and setting a new benchmark for dementia care.
