Welcome to Shinfield View, where we know how to throw a Vintage Afternoon Tea Party like no other! As Dementia Action Week drew to a close, we wanted to end it on a high note, bringing together all our favourite things from the past in a celebration of nostalgia and cherished memories.

The air was filled with anticipation and excitement as we transformed our care home into a time capsule of the 40s, 50s, and 60s. From the moment our residents stepped into the party venue, they were transported back to a space and time where they made their very best memories.

To set the perfect mood, we played all the great songs from those golden eras. The melodies of the 40s, 50s, and 60s filled the air, instantly sparking smiles and tapping feet. The joyous tunes created an atmosphere of joy and delight, igniting memories and stirring the hearts of our residents.

Our Vintage Afternoon Tea Party was a feast for the senses. Delicate teacups clinked, and the aroma of freshly brewed tea wafted through the room. Tables were adorned with vintage China, lace doilies, and scrumptious treats that were reminiscent of the past. From finger sandwiches to dainty pastries and delectable scones, our residents were treated to a delightful spread that transported them back to a time of elegance and refinement.

Living in their reality and sharing those special moments with our residents is what makes this experience incredibly special. As we sat together, sipping tea and nibbling on delicious treats, we listened to their stories and relished in the joy of their reminiscences. Laughter and happy chatter filled the room, as each resident’s memories came to life, creating a tapestry of shared experiences and a deep sense of connection.

At Shinfield View, we believe in the importance of creating meaningful experiences that uplift the spirits and touch the hearts of our residents. Our Vintage Afternoon Tea Party was a testament to this belief, allowing us to honour the past, cherish the present, and create lasting memories that will be treasured for years to come.
